About

Kyle Larabee’s work explores two fundamental fixations: a deep curiosity about the natural world, and an innate discomfort with the relentless passage of time. He pursues these interests using a rigorous, almost scientific method of experimentation and abstraction to test and transform common aspects of our environment. Often his work involves the measurement of time and the marking of highly personal milestones in unique and surprising ways. Each endeavor sharpens his understanding of his place in the world and aids in the formation of some new question to ask about it.

Larabee has exhibited widely throughout New England. He is represented by 13FOREST Gallery, located in Arlington, MA, and his work is in numerous collections, including those of Boston Children’s Hospital, Bank of America, and InterContinental Hotels. He received Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Science degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, and he is a practicing architect at a Boston-area design firm. He lives with his wife and children in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
