Boston Children's Museum Projects
Dreams and Nightmares of a Stuffed Bird
The installation was centered around a taxidermied robin perched above a nest that held several empty robin’s eggs, all items borrowed from the Children's Museum permanent natural history collection. Artwork made for the project utilized dyed and sliced newspaper obituaries, painted eggshells that were broken and reassembled in new forms, and dried and shaped weeping willow branches and twigs.

Objects incorporated in the installation included a stuffed parrot, Victorian-era children's clothing, vintage alphabet blocks, and a doll's bed and bedding, all items found in the Children's Museum permanent collection. The artist contributed additional objects including several puppets, a mason jar containing pennies and another full of colored pencils, and dried floral arrangements. The walls and floor panels were decorated with acrylic paint, conte crayon and colored pencil.
